Mein Name ist Katharina. Ich habe Music Performance in England, Falmouth University, sowie Musik und Tanzpädagogik am Orff Institut in Salzburg mit BA Honours absolviert. Ich unterrichte seit 2010 erfolgreich Ukulele, Gesang und Kompositiion/Improvisation als Einzelunterricht und Gruppenworkshops in verschiedensten Altergruppen. Da ich zweisprachig aufgewachsen bin biete ich den Unterricht in Deutsch sowie Englisch an.
Ich arrangiere immer wieder gerne beliebte Lieder und Filmmusik für Ukulele die bei den Schülern sehr beliebt sind. Eine eigene Ukulelefiebel mit 30 selbstkomponierten Instrumentalstücken für Solo, Duo und Ensemble ist im Eigenverlag erhältlich und oft und gerne von Schülern gespielt.

Für den Unterricht benutze ich eine grosse Auswahl an beliebten und bekannten Spielstücken in verschiedensten Stilrichtungen, die von mir als PDF Datei zum Ausdrucken als Vorschlag oder spezifisch auf Wunsch vorab oder nach dem Unterricht zugeschickt wird. Allerdings kann der Schüler auch gerne eigene Stücke, Lehrbücher oder gefundenes Material zur Stunde mitnehmen und gemeinsam spielen lernen.

Der Unterricht findet in Au/Haidhausen statt, oder online über verschiedene Platformen wie skype, whatsapp, messenger oder zoom. Für Hausbesuche muss ich einen Aufschlag pro Besuch berechnen, der von der Entfernung und Fahrzeit abhängt. Für analogen Unterricht arbeite ich mit Corona Hygiene Konzept - das Tragen von Masken und geöffnetes Fenster sowie Mindestabstand von 1.5. Metern während des geamten Unterrichts.

Mein Unterricht geht voll auf den Stand des Schülers (Erwachsene & Kinder) ein und ich habe viele Anfänger die schon in den ersten paar Stunden die wichtigsten Prinzipien verstehen und schon einige Lieder spielen können. Nach und nach kann man dann die Techniken vertiefen, und ein weitreichendes Repertoir, Musikkenntnisse und Können aufbauen, oder an der "Oberfläche" bleiben und einfach nur ein paar Lieder lernen. Ob es an Rhythmusmustern, gesanglicher Unsicherheit oder Timing mangelt, der Unterricht konzentriert sich spezifisch auf das, was der Schüler wirklich lernen möchte. Bei Ausprobier-Ukulele ist für den Unterricht vorhanden für alle die, die erstmal ausprobieren wollen, ohne sich gleich selbst ein Instrument kaufen zu müssen. Aber auch für Fortgeschrittene und Autodidaktiker die sich schon selber viel beigebracht haben, und hier und da noch Anstösse, Erweiterung des Repertoires oder Spielkorrekturen brauchen, biete ich Unterricht.

Für Kinder habe ein separates Lernkonzept, Unterrichtstruktur und Material entwickelt, in dem das Instrument und Musiktheorie spielerisch entdeckt, ausprobiert und gelernt wird. Da viele Kinder keinen Musikunterricht mehr in den Schulen als Fach haben, sehe ich es als meine Verantwortung als Musiklehrer dem Schüler ein musikalsiches Fundament mitzugeben, dass der Schüler dann später auch für andere Instrumente benützen kann.

Neben Kursreihen, und Ganztagskursen gebe ich ausserdem für meine regulären Schüler ab und zu einen Ukuleleworkshop, wo wir gemeinsam Lieder vortragen, zusammen Lieder die wir gemeinsam haben und die ich teilweise extra für die Schüler geschrieben habe, spielen, und ich durch spielerische Übungen einen musiktheoretischen Aspekt nahebringe.
Manchmal benützen wir einen Teil des Abends auch Stücke für geplante Auftritte als Ukuleleensemble zu üben, wo alle Schüler jederzeit freiwillig mitmachen können.
Das alles ist absolut optional, aber durchaus zu empfehlen, da es viel mehr Spass macht, gemeinsam in der Gruppe für einen Auftritt zu üben, als immer nur für sich allein ohne Ziel herumzuklimpern.

I have total of nine years of teaching experience: four years as a home tutor in Japan, two years as a private cram school tutor in Japan, three years as a universty instructor in the US (Music History, Voice Lessons, Japanese as a Second Language, Contemporary Japanese History).
